Sleeping Giant Loppet: Awards

Awards for the top finishers in each event will be presented at the podium in the park as soon as possible after the completion of the event.  

Grand Prize Draw
Skiers must complete an entry form at Kit Pick-Up to be eligible for a draw to win a one-year lease of a Nissan ROGUE courtesy of Half-Way Motors Nissan.  Restrictions apply and will be noted on the entry form.

50 km Skate Technique Event
Fastest male: $1000 + Unique locally crafted pottery keepsake from Island Pottery.
Fastest female:$1000 + Unique locally crafted pottery keepsake from Island Pottery.
Second place male and female finishers will receive $500 + Unique locally crafted pottery keepsake from Island Pottery
Third place male and female finishers will receive $250 + Unique locally crafted pottery keepsake from Island Pottery

Top finishers in this category are determined based on first to cross the finish line (not chip time).

50km Classic Technique Event
Fastest male: $300.00 cash and a unique locally crafted pottery keepsake from Island Pottery
Fastest female: $300.00 cash and a unique locally crafted pottery keepsake from Island Pottery
Second male and female finishers will receive $200.00 cash and an Island Pottery keepsake.
Third place male and female finishers will receive $100.00 cash and an Island Pottery

20km Skate Technique Event

Top three male and female finishers will receive a unique locally crafted pottery keepsake from Island Pottery.

8km Event - Top three male and female skiers age 13 and under will receive a unique locally crafted pottery keepsake from Island Pottery and a Loppet toque

Skiathlon Event - Top three male and female skiers will receive a unique locally crafted pottery keepsake from Island Pottery.

Flashback Award
The skier(s) with the best "Retro" ski outfit will be awarded some Walleye swag and a Rollin' Thunder gift certificate. No need to sign up. Mystery judges will determine the winners.
 
Woody 50 Club
The Woodymakeit Award has been retired. Any skier completing a 50km event on wood skis will become a member of the Woody 50 Club. Please identify yourself to volunteers at the finish line.
 
Age Group Recognition
The first female and male in 5 year age groups in the 50km Skate, 50km Classic, 20km Skate and 20km Classic will be listed on the Loppet website results page.

Fresh Air High School Award - A unique pottery platter from Island Pottery.
Presented to the high school with the highest number of kilometers skied by participating students and teachers and staff. All distances can be included.

Resolute Forest Products Elementary School Award - A unique pottery platter from Island Pottery. 
Presented to the elementary school with the most number of skiers. Students and teachers eligible.
